“I was paralyzed with fear because I kept inverting words and dropping words... I didn’t want to be made to feel that I was not as smart as the other kids - because I knew that I was a smart person.”

Overcoming
Learning Differences

One who struggles with language learning differences (difficulties) is approximately one in five (IDA). As this individual grows older, he or she oftentimes experiences a sense of shame within specific learning environments.

If this serious problem is not detected and/or taken care of at an early age, then reading, writing, speaking, and spelling may not develop adequately, which can affect every area of a person's life."

Dyslexia is considered a disability but has also been described as a "Disability of Giftedness."

It is a Neurological condition that research has discovered, results from differences in the structure and function of the brain (not brain damage).

Individuals with dyslexia often exhibit exceptional abilities in music, the arts, engineering, drama, architecture, athletics, electronics, and/or

mechanics.

Unfortunately, a vast majority of these gifted individuals never learn to read or write adequately and therefore never truly discover and experience all that life has to offer them.

Persons with language-based learning disorders (oftentimes referred to as dyslexia) are highly capable of learning to read and write but must do so in a different way.

Caring, patient instruc-tion utilizing Multisensory, Step-by-Step, Repetitious,

Structured methods, as well as, an 'Orton Gillingham' program are the keys to their success.

Students of all ages 'Thrive' in either private or small group therapy/ training sessions at BLS, which are well managed and a place for the students to experience one success after another.

Our instructional techniques are based upon proven and highly researched components throughout the duration of the student's training.
